Liverpool sign Diaz from Porto on five-and-a-half-year deal

Liverpool have signed winger Luis Diaz from Porto for an initial fee of £37m.

The 25-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League side and will wear the number 23 shirt.

The fee for Diaz could rise to as much as £49m if potential add-ons are triggered during his time at Anfield.

The Colombia international was a top target for manager Jurgen Klopp in the summer, but interest from Tottenham this month accelerated their plans.

'Liverpool won't let Minamino go unless they get a serious offer'

SSN Chief Reporter Kaveh Solhekol on 'The Transfer Show' (January 27):

"Minamino is a player who has not been playing regularly, he has only started six games this season, four of those were in the Carabao Cup, but Liverpool's thinking is we are still in four competitions and we do not want to let him go unless we receive a serious offer.

"They are always very firm in the transfer market, they always get good prices for the players they sell and they are sticking to their valuation with Minamino."

Three players who could leave Liverpool are Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Nat Phillips. Leeds and Monaco are interested in Minamino (Sky Sports News, January 30).

Bournemouth have expressed an interest in taking Neco Williams on loan. Liverpool are weighing up the interest (Sky Sports News, January 30).

Liverpool's forgotten man Divock Origi is at the centre of a three-club tug-of-war, with Italian sides Fiorentina and Atalanta taking on Burnley (Sun on Sunday, January 30); Divock Origi's representatives have been approached by three Italian clubs regarding a pre-contract agreement this month. Origi's preference, however, is to stay in England, meaning either a Premier League club would have to pay money this month or take him as a free agent in the summer when his contract runs out. The Belgium international may wait until the summer to fully assess his options (Sky Sports, January 6).

Liverpool could allow defenders Neco Williams and Nat Phillips to leave the club in the January transfer window (Sky Sports, January 5); Phillips is ready for a move away from Liverpool in January if the Anfield club receive an acceptable offer, which is believed to be in the region of £15m. Liverpool have already rejected a £7m bid from an unnamed Premier League side (Sky Sports, December 5); Liverpool could allow Williams to leave the club in the January transfer window, with the 20-year-old very conscious of his place in the Wales team (Sky Sports, December 5).
