As the international break gets underway, the speculation surrounding the futures of Liverpool's stars continues.
Despite Jarell Quansah signing a new contract earlier this week, Liverpool fans are still waiting for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Mohamed Salah to have their futures decided.
With January just around the corner, it won't be long until all three can negotiate pre-contract agreements with foreign clubs, unless the Reds act quickly. The more time goes on though, the louder those links with Real Madrid seem to be getting for Alexander-Arnold.
In news that has been confirmed, Jurgen Klopp will return to soccer in three months' time, with the Liverpool legend joining Red Bull as its Head of Global Soccer in January.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Alisson is expected to miss all of Liverpool's games between the October and November international breaks after scans revealed the extent of his hamstring injury.

Man City could move for Liverpool transfer 'target'
Liverpool was linked with a move for FC Porto star Alan Varela at the end of the summer transfer window when its move for Martin Zubimendi had failed.
But according to Fichajes, Manchester City could move for him as a replacement for Rodri in January. This comes after Zubimendi appeared to rule out a U-turn on exiting earlier today. He too has been linked with an Etihad transfer.

Ryan Gravenberch explains Liverpool change
Liverpool midfielder Ryan Gravenberch has begun the new era under Arne Slot in electric form. And he has explained what has changed for him since the departure of Jurgen Klopp in the summer.
"The Premier League is quicker than German football," he said. "It is more intense, both when you are in possession and when you are pressing. Counter-attacks are at speed and I think you get more time on the ball when you are in possession in the Bundesliga. You have to adapt here, but how quickly you adapt depends.
"Every player is different and, to be honest, I like a period to adapt. I wasn't used to the Premier League, of course, and I didn't play a lot of football before I came here, but I had the time to adapt and I really needed it.
"It can take time to build relationships on the pitch and, what I said, every player is different. I think if you train a lot with your teammates you adapt to them quicker and adapt to the league quicker." Read more here.

Diogo Jota agrees FC Porto deal
Liverpool forward Diogo Jota has struck a deal with FC Porto, a club where he spent a year on loan in 2016/17, which involves his eSports team Luna. The pair will join forces in the entertainment space.
"FC Porto already has a rich and successful history in eSports and we believe that this partnership we have now established will allow us to grow even more, cement our position nationally and internationally in an area in permanent development and, of course, help us fight for more victories and win more titles," FC Porto said in a statement, via the Portuguese outlet Record.
"The eSports market is very important in the expansion of our brand with a very specific audience, but where many of our fans are. And, finally, it's always good when we can combine the interests of FC Porto with someone as special as Diogo, who already had a connection as a former athlete to this club." Read more here.

Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer agree on Liverpool contracts
Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer have both agreed that if they were forced to lose one of Liverpool's three superstars whose contracts are winding down, they would reluctantly opt to part ways with Virgil van Dijk.
Arne Slot's Liverpool side has kicked off the campaign in stellar fashion, marred only by a surprising 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest, yet they still sit comfortably at the Premier League summit. However, there's an undercurrent of concern at Anfield, with the contracts of Mohamed Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Van Dijk all ticking towards their 2025 expiry.
On the Rest Is Football podcast, when the Match of the Day pundits were asked which of the trio they'd be most willing to see leave Anfield, both Lineker and Shearer reluctantly pointed towards the towering Dutch defender, Van Dijk.

Ian Wright questions Darwin Nunez
Premier League pundit Ian Wright has labeled Darwin Nunez a potentially "massive problem" for Manchester City and Arsenal — if Arne Slot can unlock him at Liverpool.
"Can you imagine if Nunez could score consistently?" he said on the Wrighty’s House podcast. "That’s a lot of money to pay for a squad player. I see Diogo Jota as the main man; [Nunez] is an impact player, and that’s a lot of money for an impact player.
"I’ve seen enough of him now. I thought at some stage it would click for him, but it’s not clicked in for him. If it clicked in for him then Liverpool are definitely one of the favorites with a firing Darwin Nunez. I’m telling you, it’s a massive problem."

Trent Alexander-Arnold speaks about future aims
Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been speaking to ITV about squeezing the most out of his career amid the wait for news on a new contract at Anfield.
"This was a conversation I had last camp with (Eberechi) Eze when we're going to Ireland," Alexander-Arnold revealed. "I was on the coach down to the airport and we had this conversation. I said, you know, that there's a chance I may never win another trophy in my career again. There's a chance of that. There's a chance I win many, many more."

Martin Zubimendi responds to Man City rumors
After he rejected Liverpool during the summer, Martin Zubimendi has been linked with a move to Manchester City as a replacement for Rodri. But he says he hasn't changed his mind on leaving Spain.
"There are always rumors but until now I've always thought that the best solution for me is staying at Real Sociedad," he expressed during a press conference today. "I've still a lot of things to give to this club, I still want to grow and develop here."

What Kompany said about Liverpool 'target'
Liverpool is being linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt's Omar Marmoush, and he is in red-hot form at the moment after producing a brilliant showing against Vincent Kompany's Bayern Munich over the weekend.
The attacker scored twice, including a dramatic injury-time equaliser, to extend Bayern's win-less run to three games and also move Frankfurt to within a point of top spot in the Bundesliga standings.
Marmoush also registered the assist for Frankfurt's second goal of the game, as he sped away from Dayot Upamecano before playing the ball through to Hugo Eketike, who slotted past Manuel Neuer.
Kompany was seriously impressed with Marmoush's showing, telling reporters after the match:
“Marmoush is a player who’s only going to get better with time. What he did for [Hugo] Ekitike’s goal is not normal. To push past Upa [Dayot Upamecano] with strength, no one did that before for the whole season.
"And then to make the right decision at the end, the quality in his strike, and the speed. Sometimes he looks quite relaxed, then when he gets going, he’s really fast.”

Meanwhile, Eintracht Frankfurt want to extend his contract early by one year until 2028. Without a release clause.

There have been a few drop-outs from the England squad that was initially announced by Lee Carsley last week and Curtis Jones has been one of the beneficiaries. He's been called up to the senior squad along with Newcastle's Tino Livramento.

Alisson set to be sidelined for six weeks
Alisson could miss all of Liverpool's matches between the October and November international breaks after it was reported that the Brazil goalkeeper will be sidelined for six weeks.
Alisson was taken off during the second half of last weekend's win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park after going down with a hamstring injury, and scans early this week have revealed the extent of the problem.
The 32-year-old was visibly frustrated as he received treatment prior to departing the field of play, and Arne Slot will no doubt be feeling similarly frustrated at the prospect of heading into a run of tricky fixtures without his No.1 goalkeeper.

Klopp secures new job
Jurgen Klopp has reportedly agreed to become Red Bull's Global Head of Soccer from January next year. The German has been out of work since leaving Liverpool at the end of last season after almost nine years as Anfield boss.

It is reported that Red Bull's managing director, Oliver Mintzlaff, was determined to get Klopp, and that Klopp's deal includes an exit clause should the Germany job become available. The 57-year-old is touted as a possible replacement for current incumbent Julian Nagelsmann.
