Denver South ChurchWinter Community Groups …

Group # MO103
the gathering (18-25) – generous living – led by Ian & Sue Prichard

Generous living means investing well what God has given you—whether that be your gifts, your home, your time, your money, or anything else God has entrusted to you.  We will talk about five essential expressions of generous living; learn how to set ourselves up to be in a place to give and engage in practical expressions of giving to those in need in our community.

Denver South ChurchGroup # MO550
beautiful outlaw – led by Nathan & Becky Glass

There is nothing in the world that matters more than Jesus. To know him, to have him, is to hold the greatest treasure you could ever be given. Our views of Jesus have been so distorted so that Jesus becomes a strange figure doing odd things, much like watching tv with the sound turned off. We are going to explore the personality of Jesus, his playfulness, his cunning, his extravagant generosity, his fierce intentionality and his scandalous freedom. There is nothing, no one, more captivating than Jesus. To know Jesus as he really is means to fall in love with him. Join us as we discover this beautiful outlaw.

Denver South ChurchGroup # MO510
fathered by God –  led by Stan Butler & Jim Reindel

There is a path leading to authentic manhood, cut by men who have gone before us, sons following in the footsteps of their fathers, generation after generation. There are perils along the trail, even disasters – all the more reason to rely on the guidance of a Father who has gone before. But in an age when true fathers are in short supply, how do you find the path to manhood? How do you steer clear of the dangers? John Eldredge calls men back to a simple and reassuring truth: God is our Father. In life’s trials and triumphs, God is initiating boys and men through the stages of manhood from Beloved Son to Cowboy to Warrior to Lover to King to Sage.

Denver South ChurchGroup # TH560
the way of Jesus – led by Calvin & Melaine Downs

In an increasingly hedonisitic and narcissistic culture, we have become programmed that life is all about “me”. But Jesus calls us to a way of life that is counter to this idea and is far more breathtaking and rewarding. Yes, it is not an easy way of life; we don’t just drift into this path. We must break free of the way we have been programmed – what RIch Nathan calls “excessive individualism”. In this group, we will get a new “download” to replace this “program” as we read Dallas Willard’s classic. “The secret of the easy yoke… is to learn from Christ how to live our total lives, and how to invest all our time and our energies of mind and body as he did.”
